Powerpoint tips

In the past I have seen some pretty lame powerpoint presentations, so here are a few tips to keep them engaging and interesting-

1. Keep text to minimum, no one wants to read an essay.
2. Make sure your color scheme is not distracting.
3. Do use a theme, black and white is monotonous.
4. Do not use too many slides.
5. The slides must be tidy and organized.

Chris Nolan's Presentation

I learned a lot about Google from Chris Nolan's presentation. Previously I had not really used Google when researching topics and such for school, but by using the methods he taught us in class I am confident that this tool can safely be used for scholarly work. The most useful feature on Google in my opionion is the timeline option. This can help pinpoint exactly what information you are seeking about a specific subject. I was also impressed with his vast knowledge of the library catalog system. I can honestly say that I am much more confident in the computer catalog system in the library than before Chris Nolan's presentation.
